We started with a few friends at our house on Christmas Eve to pass the time before the big guy in the red suit was to come. Of course he checked in early to be sure that Louise was here and that we had not gone to England this year. Louise was again awestruck that Santa was in her house. She made sure that the other kids new that he was in HER house. They could sit on his knee but he had really come to see her in her house!
When these festivities were over, it was time for bed. Louise was so worn out, she forgot to put out the carrots and cookies for Santa and the reindeer. Luckily, Mum and Dad did not forget – there were some cookie crumbs and carrot ends on thee fireplace the next morning.
Next morning, Louise slept in later than she has in months. By 7.15am, I went and opened her door. It was a few seconds then she shouted out “Mum, has he been yet”. With an affirmative answer, the whirlwind of Christmas morning started...... Here is where I need to say a big thank-you to everyone who sent a present for Lou. She was so lucky and got so many wonderful gifts. She is rotating around them all and is loving the new things to wear.
Santa scored high with the Aurora dress (aka Sleeping Beauty and Briar Rose). It is hard to get her to take it off once she gets in on, but, hey, it is Christmas, right?!!
Sleeping Beauty then fell into a great sleep (only pretending...)
After a turkey lunch, we took the obligatory walk on the trail, Louise rode the hobby horse on a stick.
Christmas Evening, we spent at Jim and Sharon's house with their family. Louise took her new wii game (Disney Princess), Brandon very patiently played the game most of the evening and deserves a big thankyou... The rest of us were focused on the new jigsaw puzzle that Jill got for Christmas. I had forgotten how relaxing it is to do jigsaws and Gordon and I took a trip to Target the next day and bought a couple of puzzles of our own!!
So that was Christmas!!!
